Von September bis November 2002 zeigten 14 Künstler/innen Videokunst auf den Screens von Bahninform in 26 Hauptbahnhöfen mit 3 - monatlich wechselnden - Programmen: an den Eröffnungen jeweils ein ganzes Videokunst-Programm, sowie Interviews mit den Künstlern. In den folgenden Wochen erschien die Videokunst über den Tag verteilt, ca. 1 Video stündlich. Ob Eröffnung oder Alltag: Immer wurden die Videos, wie das ganze BahnInform-Programm, zentral bundesweit ausgestrahlt. Eröffnung 1. Programm: 8. Sep. 2002, Frankfurt Hbf. ARTworks! Video art at the German Railways in 26 Central Stations in Germany, Sep. - Nov. 2002Organizers: German State Organization of Galleries and 'Culture in Train Stations'. Initiative and program by [STRICTLY PUBLIC] 14 artists presented video art from September to November 2002 in 26 Central Stations all over Germany. Three different program were shown in monthly rotation. On opening days visitors were able to see the entire video art program along with interviews with each artist (documentation by Maria A. Tappeiner). During the following weeks video art was presented throughout the whole day and one video was shown about every hour. And with no difference between opening day or regular days, all video art, as well as the entire Bahninform program, were displayed nationwide. Opening of the first program: September 9, Central Station Frankfurt at the screen. Greetings by Heinz Holtmann, chairman of BVDG, and Klaus Vogt, chairman of 'Culture in Train Stations'. Introduction by Nicolaus Schafhausen, Director of the Art Association Frankfurt. Opening of the second program: October 6, Central Station Zoo Berlin. Introduction by Andreas Broeckmann, Director of the Media Art Festival 'Transmediale'. Opening of the third program: November 3, Central Station Cologne parallel to the Art fair 'Art Cologne'.
